Alt - Mombara

This is an alternate history map of a nation known as Mombara, or in full name 'The Empire of Mombara'. It was a nation that arose after a revolution against The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland and other British Settlements in 1957. Once the revolutionaries were victorious, they began to resist other colonial african holdings. They helped South Africa gain indepedence, as well as Namibia, but the Mombaran Empire was able to vassalize the new state. Angola and Mozambique also won independence, only to become Vassals of the Mombaran Empire. After about 7 years, Mombara had lost all its vassals as the vassal states began to despise the Empire. Land agreements with the vassals were unfavorable, as well as harsh military agreements and influence over trade. After the vassals declared indepedence, the Empire mobilized its forces and launched campaigns against the new states. South Africa and Congo came to support the state, leading to many wars. Mombara was ended as an Empire on August 6 2014 when a coup d'etat, revolutions, economic crisises, and wars with other nations hit the nation hard.
